The last thing my wife said to me was to, ‘tell people that one day we will look at this crazy puzzle and laugh’. Well, I’m telling people. But I think she would want me to explain what she meant.
As the memory of my wife slowly fades, I want to write one last article on what I have learnt from her.
I want to talk about love – which really was her expertise.
God is intimately involved in all that happens in our lives. And if what happens is cancer, then not only does He know about it, He makes it happen.
What do you do when you find out that your 27 year old wife has cancer?
Well, first you cry a lot.
When my wife was diagnosed with cancer, something odd happened. Her anger at God went away.
As with all good things in life, trust in God does not just happen. You don’t go to bed one night feeling that God is out to get you and wake up the next day confident that you can rely on Him – no matter what you take.
If you want to trust God, it is going to take conscious effort to develop and maintain the emotion.
